Final First Page of Article

This is the first page of my final article.

My article is basically about a young girl (Latoya Milne) who has became very successful in the music business. However, the story begins with her talking about her past life and how she was brought up, she never really had it easy. I chose to write a story like this as I thought it would appeal to the target audience which woule be young teenagers.

I have kept the same colour scheme through the magazine, once again it is Blue and Black. You will be able to notice that I have used White instead of Yellow in this article as it stood out more to the audience. The photo I have used is of the same model in the dront cover (Emma Milne) once again I have used this model as she is in the same age range as the possible target audience and is attractive which will appeal to an audience of both men and women. The text is in columns which is also another common convention in magazines.

This is my final Contents Page.

Obviously I have used the title of my magazine on the contents page as well. Underneath that, I have addressed to the reader that it is the contents page, making it clear for the audience. The page is basically split in two, once side is to do with the main story that I have based my article on and the other side is to do with everything else my magazine may contain. At the top of one side of the page, you will be able to see that I have included Editors Comments and a photo of the editor, this is to appeal to the audience and inform them of what they will be able to expect in this issue and plenty more to come. Underneath the Editors Comments, are certain pages in my magazine and what is on the pages, explaining briefly to the reader what they can expect to read about on that page. As you will be able to see the page numbers do not go in chronological order, I have done this is it is a common convention in many magazines. One the other side of the page, I have talked about the main story that is included in my magazine and what my article is based on. I have used a big photo of the artist and underneath is a paragraph about the artist and below that is a series of photo's of the artist. You will be able to see under that is a blue arrow and inside that arrow is 2 other artists that is included in my magazine, this will attract the audience. I have used the same colour scheme throughout my magazine (Blue, Black and Yellow)

Final Front Cover

This is my front cover. I have used three different colours on the cover (Blue,Black and Yellow). As you can see I have used only one image of a model as this was a common convention in music magazines. The price and date are on the side of the magazine so it doesnt draw attention away from the rest of the magazine. I have also used different font styles as this was also another common convention in magazines. At the top of the cover I have used a hook 'Win the chance to record your own CD with EMIRecords' this will attract the reader and persuade them to buy it. The main story on my cover is the 'Latoya Milne' story, this is a story that many people may relate to possibly the target audience (teenagers) by doing this, will draw in the audience and make them buy the product. Many of the text on the cover is highlighted in yellow, this will stand out to people and help the magazine sell more. The subheading 'Can you handle it?' addresses the reader questioning them whether they should buy the magazine or not, once again this is a persuasive way to make the audience buy the magazine. I used an attractive model in the age range of the possible audience, ocne again by using an attractive model will draw in both men and women to buy the product. Stories on the page that I have picked to use are ones that are more common and recognisable to the reader, this will once again draw there attention in making them more willing to buy it if they are familiar with what they are going to read.

Photo's I have used

These are the photo's I have used in my magazine.

I created some flat plans to show what I want my music magazine to look like. This first flat plan is of what I want my front cover to finally become.

My second flat plan is of my contents page and how I finally want it to be set out. At the top I will include a photograph of myself near my editors comments to show exactly who the editor is. I will keep the colour scheme throughout my magazine.

This is a analysed contents page from mojo. The original colours are black and red as this has been photocopied. This shows a typical mojo layout and has a basic colour scheme. They use the same layout of images in uncut magazines as they do here. At the side of the magazine it shows little features of whats in the magazine. There is also a advertisment at the bottom of the page for the readers. At the bottom it is not numbered in chronological order as its seperated and the same font is used. It is banded in certain blocks, this makes it recognisable for the reader. There is a small caption on photo's to show what pages they are on and the date is also shown.

This is another magazine contents I have analysed. The big photograph frames the page and the title is bold and stands out. It has the same colour scheme in the magazine and shows the date for the reader. It is numbered showing what page a certain topic is on, however the numbers on the contents page are not in chronological orde, this is common in magazines. The clothing the artist is wearing links to the artist that he actually is, he is also recognisable to the reader. It has a typical uncut layout, with the same colours. The magazine also uses the same font on the contents page.
